About Finns
Finland is said to have a 100%-literacy. Finns also know several languages when they finish high school: at least Finnish, English and Swedish the second oficial language. They are a nation that is very fond of high technology and especially keen on mobile phones sometimes I get the feeling that they talk more on the phone than person-to-person. Finns are very law obeying and this is why their country is so well organised and one of the safest countries in the world.
Finns are generally very nice people. They are always willing to help, as long as you ask them. They are, however, quite shy and this is why sometimes they might look cold and distanced. The truth is that it is just their way of thinking that they shouldn't bother anyone and it is best for everybody if we just keep our personal space and don't talk too much.
This however changes when they are brightened up by a few bottles of beer. Finns like to work hard on weekdays and party hard on weekends. Another amusement of theirs, which is more like a tradition, is the sauna. Normally each family has a summerhouse situated far from a densely populated town and near nature. And most of the families have their saunas both in their home and in their cottage. Another tradition is to make a hole in the ice cover of a lake during the winter and swim after you have been warmed up in the sauna.
